GCC Expertise

Our strongest market knowledge, regulatory familiarity and business networks are located across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.

NAFDAK also supports international opportunities and cross-border engagements in Europe, Asia, Africa, the United Kingdom and North America.

The GCC is frequently discussed as a single market. It is not. Ownership rules, licensing routes, localisation requirements, procurement culture and the pace of regulatory change differ materially between these six countries, and a plan built for one of them rarely transfers unaltered to another. Our regional work begins from those differences rather than averaging them away.

Core GCC Markets

Saudi Arabia

The region’s largest economy and the most active reform environment. Scale, localisation requirements and the pace of regulatory development all shape what a credible entry or expansion plan looks like.

United Arab Emirates

A mature commercial hub with multiple jurisdictions and free zones. Choosing the right structure early has lasting consequences for tax, ownership and market access.

Qatar

A concentrated market where institutional relationships and procurement processes carry significant weight in commercial outcomes.

Kuwait

A market where timelines and approval processes need to be planned for realistically rather than assumed from regional averages.

Bahrain

A compact and accessible market, frequently considered alongside Saudi Arabia as part of a wider regional footprint.

Oman

A market with distinct sector priorities and its own regulatory character, rewarding country-specific analysis over regional assumptions.

What Regional Expertise Means in Practice

It means knowing which regulator matters for a given activity, how long an approval realistically takes, where published figures should be treated with caution, and which commercial norms are written down and which are simply understood.

It also means recognising the limits of that knowledge. Regulation in the region moves quickly, and we verify current position rather than relying on what was accurate last year.

International Coverage

NAFDAK supports cross-border engagements in Europe, Asia, Africa, the United Kingdom and North America. Coverage does not imply a local office in every market: where execution on the ground is required, we work with qualified advisers in that jurisdiction.

  • Europe
  • Asia
  • Africa
  • United Kingdom
  • North America

Most international work runs in one of two directions: organisations outside the region evaluating a GCC opportunity, and regional groups assessing an investment or expansion abroad. Both benefit from the same discipline of verifying assumptions before capital is committed.
